Many hands make for light work. The students, staff and PTO would be very appreciative of any time you can give! PTO meets just one time per month and we encourage any of our student's adults to attend any meetings they can. Can't make the monthly meetings? There are still lots of volunteer opportunities available throughout the year!
JOIN THE BOARD

Student Support Committee
Committee of 5-7 family volunteers will work directly with Mrs. Zelli from our office staff to
ensure that student needs are being met. Those types of needs may be but are not limited to
families in need (clothing, food, negative lunch accounts), and the Angel Tree submissions for
the potential to help 3-6 families in need during the Holidays. Members will help carry out the
necessary tasks that are involved.
Teacher Appreciation Committee
Committee of family volunteers that will help carry out duties of teacher appreciation
week which involves organizing appreciation gifts, delivery of gifts to school and making Utica
teachers feel appreciated and loved all year long. This may include doing special things for
teachers throughout the year that committee members agree on and get approved. Examples of
things done for teachers could include, but are not limited to donuts for teachers, coffee cart,
extra supply baskets, etc.
School Day Support Committee
This particular committee will be for volunteers that are interested in coming into the
building (with a background check on file) during the school day and assisting with clerical
things like help with copying/distributing information, help with daytime events and any other
duties that may need to be done during the day that you can assist with 5-7 committee
members would be great to be able to lend a hand when needed!
Class Parent Committee
This committee will comprise 2 parents per classroom that will have a background check
on file. Members can help facilitate class parties, field day and special activities in the classroom
and any other activity/day that the teacher may need extra help with.
Student Activities Committee
Our student activities committee serves to make our students' school experience more
fun and exciting! Members will get together and discuss fun activities that will be able to be
carried out with the approval of administration. Whether it be Kona Ice day, Dress like a
superhero day, or larger events like 5th grade graduation, we want to make the students excited
to come to school and be a part of the Utica family!
IMPORTANT
All committees are responsible for compiling ideas, requests, needs, and designating a lead person from that committee to bring information to PTO meetings to present and be voted on. All members are required to have a current year background check on file with the Utica Elementary school office.
Request a background form from the school front desk or your child's teacher. Complete background check form, include copy of your ID (front and back, must be clear and visible) then email your documents to Tabitha Chevalier, tchevalier@gccschools.com or send into the school inside of your student's folder.
